Visit to Hill Zill Winery, Bordi, Maharashtra during January 2023 as part of the fruit wine field visit and interaction with the winemaking couple of Priyanka Save and husband Nagesh Pai, founders of Fruzzante Chikoo wine, the first Sapota / Chikoo wine in the world. Priyanka and her husband have worked exclusively with more than 25 fruits, other than grapes, to turn them into wines and are currently leaders of the industry with market presence across Maharashtra, Goa, Delhi, Arunachal, Karnataka and soon to ne launched in Meghalaya, Sikkim, Assam and West Bengal. It was an excellent learning experience for the team especially with regards to the making of wine from fruits like strawberry, mangoes, pineapple, chikoo etc. which are also available in Meghalaya.
