The launch of the Meghalaya Mushroom Mission (MMM) on 30th May 2019 has increased mushroom production by 10-fold within 2 years since its launch. About 432 new farmers were introduced and trained in mushroom cultivation giving them a way to make additional earnings. There is a huge potential for the State's entrepreneurs to consider establishing Mushroom Spawn Centres and supply mushroom spawns to farmers within the state and Northeast region.
