A review of the implementation of TREYSEFA was held on the 9th November 2022 under the chairmanship of Shri K. N Kumar, Chairman, MF(E)C, in the presence of Shri. GHP Raju, Principal Secretary, AH & Vet, Shri B. K Sohliya, Executive Adviser, MF(E)C, Shri. M L Suiam, Director MAMETI, Smt. Soma Pun, A.D.A, BATC, Smt. Bankyntiew, A.D.A BATC, Shri. D.R. Iangrai, A.D.A BATC and Dr. L. M. Umlong, Sr. A.H & V.O. The review was also attended by 20 graduates of the TREYSEFA 2022 batch who gave very valuable feedback about the programme.
Training of Rural Educated Youth for Self Employment in Farm-Based Activities' (TREYSEFA) is a programme of the Department of Agriculture & Farmers' Welfare intended to equip educated unemployed youths of the State with the necessary skills to take up and run sustainable agribusinesses of their own and generate self employment in the rural and peri urban areas. Under the guidance of the Meghalaya Farmers' (Empowerment) Commission, the programme has been restructured to better cater to emerging markets and aspirations of todays' youths. Each graduate is being provided a seed grant of Rs. 1,00,000/- to kick start their enterprises.
