Shri. K. N. Kumar, Chairman, Meghalaya Farmers’ Empowerment Commission, accompanied by Shri B.K. Sohliya, Executive Advisor, Meghalaya Farmer (Empowerment) Commission, visited Mairang in Eastern West Khasi Hills on the 9th of March 2022 and held intensive consultations with progressive farmers of the district. As part of the programme he also visited and inspected a number of Zero Energy Cold Chambers in the farmers fields which were funded by the Commission and implemented through the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Eastern West Khasi Hills. The programme was also attended by Shri W. Nongsiej, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Eastern West Khasi Hills, Shri W. Syiemlieh, District Horticulture Officer, West Khasi Hills Shri. L. J. Niang, District Agriculture Officer, West Khasi Hills, Shri W.B. Marbaniang, SDAO, Mairang and officials of Veterinary and Fisheries departments.
