Highlights of the field visit and familiarization tour to the winemaking industry of Nashik for personnel of the Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition (IHMCTAN) Shillong, organized by the Meghalaya Farmers' (Empowerment) Commission (MFEC) from the 23rd to the 28th January 2023.The team was led by Smti. Doreen M Marpna, Executive Assistant to the Chairman, MFEC along with Dr (Mrs) Balabynta Kharshiing, Principal in charge, IHMCTAN.
The objective of this tour was to familiarize the team with the processes of winemaking, the equipment involved etc with the aim of translating the learnings for the operationalization of the first demo micro winery of the State set up at the Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition (IHMCTAN), Shillong which is set to be operational soon.
